Installation and video project

During the Italian Covid-19 lockdown I embroidered on a series of man’s underpants, forgotten by guests in my b&b, quotes of the Covid-19 speeches of the Italian prime minister.
Later during the lockdown, in Holland, as an equivalent I embroidered quotes of speeches of the Dutch prime minister on women’s underpants that my friends donated by post.
The underpants, representing intimacy or lack of intimacy, become the symbol of the pandemic.
With Gera Hoogland and John Panders we made two short videos with actors wearing the pants in Sicily/Holland. Some underpants were further transformed by Esther Burger and even a Norwegian version has been created.
